The following rabbits are either in the Tweed Shire Pound, in temporary homes with Friends of the Pound foster carers, or are private re-homings. Click on ‘Rabbit Category’ to see where they currently reside. It is illegal to keep rabbits in Queensland, and large fines apply.
Missing Rabbits
If your rabbit is missing in the Tweed Shire area, please phone the Tweed Shire Pound immediately on 02 6670 2400. You may also upload their details and photograph to the Tweed Shire Council’s lost animals page here. Please view our links page for more information on lost pets.
All adoptions are subject to our adoption application process which requires submitting an expression of interest. You can meet and get to know your rabbit before you commit to purchase it – you can even take one on trial! You will take home a new member of your family that will love you unconditionally.
You can adopt a rabbit from Friends of the Pound that has already grown past the mischievous and often demanding baby bunny stage. This can be a great choice for families with young children, as older rabbits tend to be calmer, less prone to nipping, and easier to handle.
A rescue pet always seems to know that you have been their saviour, and can repay you tenfold with their loyalty.
Buying a rescue animal saves a life.
