Why should I
foster a pet?
Knowing that you have played a big role in getting them their ‘forever’ home is a great feeling and one that will stay with you for a lifetime.
Take home a rescue dog or cat for a while
Foster carers are the lifeline of our organisation, without these wonderful people we could not rescue the number of animals we do, yet we always need more people to come forward and offer to foster an orphan until a permanent home can be found.
Foster caring is a really rewarding thing to do and it doesn’t take much time or effort. Firstly, you must become a member of Friends of the Pound and then all you need to provide is a loving home, secure fencing and a few hours of interaction with your foster animal each day.
We can provide you with food and bedding, and we pay for all medical costs associated with the foster animal. We also provide you with support at any time you need, about any questions you may have.
The most rewarding part of the whole experience has to be the satisfaction you feel when your foster animal finds a new, permanent loving home. Knowing that you have played a big role in getting them that home is a great feeling and one that will stay with you for a lifetime.
